Urza’s Saga

1998–1999

Urza’s Saga was released in October 1998, except Simplified Chinese, and contained 350 cards. It was the first to replace 60-card starter decks with 75-card tournament decks.

The artist's name and copyright are centered for the forthcoming foil versions with a shooting star on the bottom left, and collectors numbers were added (both since Exodus). In German cards, the numbers are parenthesized. In 1998, the font for name and card type changed in Japanese cards.

Preconstructed decks containing front cut cards are known in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese. The last ones are made in the USA like the booster versions and are indiscernible.
